Dallas, TX – The field is set for the 116th Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, TX on July 8th-12th. Registration closed on Wednesday, June 5th, with a full field and extensive wait list.
Of the 144 players to compete for the Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship title, 28 are international players from 13 different countries. Fifty-four players are ranked in the top 500 or less in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and 70 players are ranked 500 or less in the Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking. Seventy-six colleges/universities will be represented from across the country.
Hayden Springer, 2018 Champion, and Justin Tereshko, 2018 Low Mid-Amateur, are in the field, as well as many from 2018’s Top 30 finishers.
Chair and Trans Director, Mike McCoy said, “The field for this year’s championship is once again one of the top championship fields in the country, testament to the history of Tran’s champions and the challenge of Maridoe golf club.”
“Maridoe Golf Club will provide a wonderful test for all of the players and one that will ensure a deserving champion”, said TMGA Executive Director Rob Addington. Since its renovation, Maridoe, has been a very strong supporter of amateur golf, hosting several USGA qualifiers, the Texas Shoot-Out, the Texas-Four Ball Championship and later this fall the Texas Mid-Am Championship.
