On behalf of the Trans-Mississippi Golf Association’s Board of Directors, I hope this communication finds you safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.  The Executive Committee of the TMGA has been watching closely the fluid situation with the COVID-19 pandemic and is cautiously optimistic that we may be able to conduct this year’s Amateur Championship.  Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for all involved in the Championship, from players to families, club and tournament staff.  If we believe this can be achieved and all local, state, and national authorities would approve of such an activity we plan on conducting the 117th Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship.  I am sure many, if not all of you, have cabin fever and want to get back to playing golf as appropriate.  To that end, the Championship Committee will continue to monitor the situation and look to make a call on either canceling the event or moving forward by the middle to late May.

Entries are still open and we would encourage you to enter.  We will not charge new entrants’ credit cards until your entry is accepted into the field and the decision to move forward with the event has been made.  If you meet the exemption criteria we will save you a spot in the event on a first come first serve basis and any spots not taken by those players will be selected by the Championship Committee.  Look for player status notifications immediately following our determination on conducting the event.  I know we all hope to be back on the course in a safe environment here shortly,

Truly,

ROB ADDINGTON
Executive Director
